Mackenzie Rayfield, PA-C, is a member of Íøºì³Ô¹Ï's Gastroenterology team. She chose a career in healthcare because she is passionate about making a difference in an individual's life. She is drawn to the restorative aspects of medicine—both fixing and healing—but is especially passionate about the preventive side of healthcare.

Ms. Rayfield treats adults with a wide range of GI related conditions including GERD, EoE, gastritis, H. pylori, swallow disorders, pancreatitis, hepatobiliary disorders, IBD, IBS, celiac disease, vitamin deficiencies, colon screening and preventative care, and colon related cancers. She advocates for a holistic model of care that considers the patient's overall well-being, rather than addressing only their presenting symptoms or primary diagnosis.

Ms. Rayfield says, "Each patient is treated with the same empathy and respect I would expect for myself or her loved ones. I want my patients to feel included in their medical decision making and feel confident in choosing me as their provider." She aims to foster a patient experience where individuals feel truly seen, heard, and valued. She hopes they leave their visit more educated with a better understanding of their digestive system, their symptoms and treatment options, and the lifestyle involved for maintaining better gut health. 

Outside of work, Ms. Rayfield enjoys spending time with her family. She is new to gardening, enjoys kayaking and swimming on the lake, and reading. She is passionate about preventative medicine and discussing the importance of screening colonoscopies for colon cancer prevention. She also enjoys teaching patients how to balance diet and lifestyle.
