Joseph Evangelisti, LCSW, has always had a deep interest in psychology and the human experience. He saw a career in health care as a wonderful opportunity to work with people all day, striving to improve their lives. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Evangelisti has worked with a wide range of populations, particularly those dealing with substance use, anxiety disorder, and depressive and mood disorders. He believes that he and his patients are a team working together, and it is only through mutual understanding and respect that they can accomplish something together. 

Mr. Evangelisti says, "What is most important is that I'm able to make an earnest effort to understand the person in front of me and what they are experiencing. I want to check that I have the right understanding and have made them comfortable enough to clarify when I don't." He enjoys being able to take part in the private accomplishments of his patients that he would never otherwise know about.

When he is not working with his patients, Mr. Evangelisti loves reading, particularly history and non-fiction, but he's also a big Game of Thrones fan. He is passionate about the environment, LGBTQ+ rights, human rights in general, and Gorilla conservation.
