People with compromised immune systems face increased fears about COVID-19 as businesses and public facilities begin to reopen. Immunosuppression may arise from conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. People who have cancer or who have had cancer are also often immunocompromised from the cancer itself, its treatments (chemotherapy, etc.), or both, and are at increased risk for infection.
