Margarette Edouard, RDN, CDN, CDCES, is a member of ����Թ�’s Nutrition Services team. Her area of expertise is as a certified diabetes care and education specialist, working primarily with adult patients. Her areas of counseling include diabetes, cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal, and high- risk pregnancies. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition from Marymount College, and her dietetic internship from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Margarette's approach to patient care is one of empathy. She places herself in her patients' position to understand their perspectives. She believes that roadblocks and challenges can affect patients from all types of backgrounds. 

What Margarette enjoys most about her work is helping her patients succeed. She loves seeing the "aha" moment when a patient recognizes the impact of their lifestyle practices. "I find it really important to listen to my patients," says Ms. Edouard. "By listening, I can understand their challenges, successes, and roadblocks. Throwing info at patients does not work” she believes. 

Outside of her work, Margarette hikes and is an avid daily walker. She enjoys Latin dance classes, yoga, reading, French cinema, and traveling. She tries to garden as much as possible, as way to soothe her soul. She enjoys cooking, especially after going to a farmer's market. She also volunteers at a local food pantry, recognizing that food insecurity is a pervasive problem in the United States.
