About Jared E. Macklin, MD
Dr. Macklin is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science in biological sciences, cum laude, from Cornell University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Macklin went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Southern California and then his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Yale University School of Medicine, where he served as chief fellow.
Prior to joining Íøºì³Ô¹Ï (formerly Westmed Medical Group), Dr. Macklin worked as a gastroenterologist at Connecticut Gastroenterology Consultants, P.C. in Guilford, CT and Yale New Haven Hospital where he led hospital rounds and mentored Yale fellows, residents, and medical students.
Dr. Macklin has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He has presented at national conferences and authored several original and review articles on topics, including inflammatory bowel disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). He also participates in a weekly conference with national leaders in IBD. Other areas of expertise include colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, GERD and liver disease.
Dr. Macklin is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
