Angeline Z. Mapa, DNP, APN, FNP-C, has long been passionate about becoming a nurse. She finds it rewarding to help her patients and touch their lives. Throughout her nursing career, the definition of being a nurse has evolved to include many broader responsibilities in health care.

Ever since she became a nurse practitioner in 2014, Ms. Mapa has had the opportunity to treat underprivileged communities. “I am genuinely dedicated to helping those in need and am grateful for the many challenges that have shaped me into becoming a well-rounded and resilient provider,” she says. To give back to the community, she has served in mobile health clinics and mentored various new aspiring nurse practitioner students.

The golden rule principle, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” is the philosophy Ms. Mapa follows when approaching patient care. She treats all patients with the utmost professionalism, honesty, dignity, love, and respect.

During a patient visit Ms. Mapa believes it is important to recognize that each patient is unique and special. “I think it’s essential to collaborate and practice patient-centered medical care so I can build a special relationship with them,” she says. Understanding their needs allows her to provide the best treatment for success.

When she is not spending time treating patients in the office, Ms. Mapa enjoys spending time with her family. She is the mother of two energetic, handsome, and loving boys. She also enjoys traveling, singing, dancing (Zumba in particular), and watching movies.
