About Hashem J. Hashem, MD
Dr. Hashem specializes in gastroenterology-advanced endoscopy and is board certified in gastroenterology. He currently serves as the Department Chair of Gastroenterology at Íøºì³Ô¹Ï.
Dr. Hashem received his medical degree from Saint George's School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Raphael's Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine, where he received the chief of staff award for outstanding resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Yale University School of Medicine, receiving the distinctive Samuel Kushlan Award for Excellence in Clinical Care.
Dr. Hashem has interventional endoscopy training in procedures including therapeutic ERCP, EUS with FNA, endoscopic muscosal resection and enhanced imaging endoscopy techniques.
He is affiliated with White Plains Hospital and Greenwich Hospital and is a member of the American Gastrointestinal Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Before joining Íøºì³Ô¹Ï (formerly Westmed Medical Group) in September 2010, Dr. Hashem was a clinical associate professor with Geisinger Health Care System/Temple University. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
